OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY &
HEALTH POLICY STATEMENT

OBJECTIVE: TO ELIMINATE ALL INCIDENTS OF INJURY, HEALTH HAZARDS, THREATS TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND PROPERTY DAMAGE IN THE WORK PLACE.

 

Mabou Mining Inc, fosters a safety culture that strives to eliminate all injuries and ill-health from work related incidents and conditions, following the best practices and precepts of Occupational Health and Safety systems and instill the philosophy of worker empowerment, accountability and continuous improvement.

 

1. Supervisors will inform individually, all employees of the responsibility they have for achieving the safety and health objectives in the workplace making them responsible by holding them accountable for performance.

 

2. Managers and supervisors will develop in employees a high level of professional performance with respect to themselves and their fellow employees and clients through proper training and instruction.

 

3. All employees and supervisors on all sites are to be informed of, and comply with the government legislation, Occupational Health and Safety Act Ontario and Regulation 854 for Mines and Mining Plants and corporate policies and procedures applicable to their areas of responsibility as a condition of employment.

 

4. Management and supervisors as designated will promptly and efficiently investigate all incidents and report according to legislation under the “Act” any accident, or incident, resulting in injury, unsafe practice or act, any unusual occurrence or damage to environment or to property in order to determine the cause/control factors and to take appropriate measures to prevent any recurrence through “Risk Management Principles”.

 

5. In fulfilling the commitment to protect both people, property and the environment, we will endeavor to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work place according to acceptable mining industry standards, and in compliance with legislated requirements.
