Jumbo Operator

Position Summary

Mabou Mining is seeking experienced Jumbo Operators to join our underground mining team. Reporting to the Superintendent or Shift Boss, the Jumbo Operator is responsible for safe and efficient drilling of development headings in accordance with mine plans and production targets.

This role plays a critical part in supporting development, productivity, and safety across all Mabou Mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mechanized jumbo drills to complete development headings to design specifications

• Perform drilling for face rounds, bolting, and service installation as required 

• Maintain proper drilling patterns to ensure optimal blasting results

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating a jumbo drill in underground mining

• Strong knowledge of underground development practices and drilling techniques

• Ability to read and interpret mine plans and layouts

• Experience working in production-focused environments

• Valid underground mining certifications (Common Core or site-specific equivalent)

• First Aid and WHMIS certification
